Products Evidence Based Therapy Producing Real Results
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence based psychotherapy that offers brief, consistent and effective ways to change. In essence, CBT gives clients the knowledge and skills they need to deal with their own problems. This unique approach of CBT has been proven to be effective in the treatment of a wide range of emotional and behavioural disorders. CBT is a collaborative process were the therapist and client work together to identify thoughts and behaviours that can be changed to bring about emotional change. The client is often taught skills and techniques that are practised (both in session and as homework) in such a way as to increase their capability in dealing with future negative events and emotions. CBT uses cognitive and behavioural techniques that are genuinely flexible to a client's needs and personal circumstances. One goal of this type therapy is to teach the client to become their own therapist, by equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to achieve their goals : effectively making the therapist redundant.
